Join me in exploring new recipes and stumbling upon more yummy findings across various cuisines.   Fowes Vegetable Stir-Fry Ingredients: Budget: $15.00 at Harris Teeter 10 sticks of Asparagus ($3.99/1b), 4 purple Radish ($1.49/bunch), 6 Sweet mini-peppers (2 red, 2 yellow, 2 orange. $1.99/bag), 2 medium diced Tomatoes ($1.00), 10 sticks of Fresh organic Parsley ($1.59/bunch), 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil, 2 cubes of knorr cilantro seasoning ($1.89/box of 20 counts). Directions: Diced tomatoes, asparagus, radish, mini peppers and toss together in a bowl, set aside. Pour olive oil inside frying pan and place on low – medium heat for 2 minutes. Add vegetable bowl and stir for 5 minutes. stir fry is ready! Serving:  I love this stir fry because it can serve up to four different meals or more and you can store it in the fridge or freezer for up to a week (or longer in the freezer) without it loosing its fresh taste. Do you think that these ladies really care about who is the prettiest? who is the most fly? Fill in the blank with each colloquialism that women have. First Lady and Mrs. Pinckney are the epitome of what women are to be to one another and that is SUPPORT, that backbone, loyalty, a place to land, a safety net, I don’t care if I am available or not, I Am here for you sister! I really get appalled as a look I experience and witness the stupidity and frivolity of envy, jealousy, judgements, and criticisms.  The perpetual intensity of debates about matters that will take care of themselves; especially during a time of fragility for families locally, nationwide and abroad. I agree with what Madeleine Albright’s quote, “There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women!” Point blank nothing to add to it but the fact that every woman especially a minority woman who has been told that she AIN’T nothing and never will be……

Reflection- Making Peace with our lives: Can we really?

“Making Peace with our lives: Can we really?”     As a human physiology student, I am learning more about how our bodies work daily and I am fascinated by the depth and complexity of our creation as humans. The different molecular mechanisms and regulations that makes us who we are astounds me. Learning about various hormones and neurotransmitters that controls the simple and vital components of our lives such as sleep, appetite, mood, and coping with stress is just awe-inspiring to me. It is only in my generation that I think that the saying “knowledge is power” does not always apply. My human physiology professor jokingly commented about preaching to the choir when she advised that we all should get “enough sleep” every night because sleep has a significant impact on our appetite regulation, performances as students and stress level. There is an hormone called Ghrelin that is secreted by the endocrine cells of our stomach and ghrelin secretion is associated with gastric stretch.  Increase concentration of grehlin in our blood decreases gastric stretch and this binds …
